Lineage:

OG Delux x Temple Kush F2N

Lab Results:

Middle Ground comes from crossing OG Delux with Temple Kush F2N, and y'all, the name fits the flower better than most strains in our lil opinion. This is a really evenly balanced hybrid that never rushes to pick a side. It didn't leave us lost in the clouds or stuck on the proverbial couch. Just a steady, even hybrid that feels like it was built for life's in‑between moments. The kind of strain you reach for when you want something that behaves itself.

Sight:

My 3.5 gram bag had two nugs in it. Both were noticeably larger than anything else I’ve bought from a Georgia dispensary so far. They were dense and well‑shaped, with bright orange pistils curling across the surface.

Up close, the trichomes looked really nice. I put one nug under a jeweler’s loupe and saw a nice spread of thick bulbous heads across the surface. These compact hybrid nugs really have a nice amount of frost compared to everything else I’ve seen from the dispensaries.

We're trying one of the two nug that came in our 3.5 gram bag for this review, but we’re putting the other one in a small Mason jar with a Boveda pack for about a week. Boveda makes small packets (that resemble an old-school sugar packet) that are specifically designed to control relative humidity ("RH") for cannabis storage using two-way regulation (adding moisture or absorbing moisture as necessary). If you like your medical cannabis a little drier (which we sometimes prefer for certain flower vaporization), we recommend using Boveda's 58% RH packets. You can also get Boveda packets that will help maintain 62% RH, which we prefer for stickier and more aromatic flower. Depending on the size of your container and the Boveda packet you use, you can expect to see RH hit your target zone in around three to seven days. Another great benefit of the Boveda packs is protecting all of those tasty terpenes we like to talk about.

Smell:

Opening the bag brings a nice, clean gas and diesel aroma. It's certainly not the kind of diesel that punches you in the nose. It sits in a middle lane that feels rounded and pleasant. Pine and citrus sit behind the gas and help balance the profile.

After grinding, the aroma changed a bit for us. The intensity dropped a bit. The gas was still there, but the overall smell softened. Some strains get louder after grinding. This one quieted down for me.

Taste:

I vaporized this flower with a Volcano vaporizer. The first Volcano bag (at 181 Celsius) produced thin vapor, but the flavor was still there. The initial taste was clean and pleasant. A gassy aftertaste lingered in a way that surprised me. It was enjoyable. I also seemed to taste more of the gas on the exhale than the inhale.

The second bag held its character. The flavor stayed even and steady. It did not get stronger, but it did not fall apart either. It stayed in the same lane from start to finish.

If you want to learn more about terpenes that often show up in gassy or pine‑leaning strains, you can read about caryophyllene, limonene, or pinene. We suspect these terpenes are contributing to what we experienced in this flower.

Vapor:

The vapor stayed thin across both bags at 181 Celsius. Smooth, easy, and consistent. It never thickened on the second bag and stayed quite pleasant.

Experience:

Middle Ground settled in like a steady hybrid that knows how to mind its manners in public. It was a familiar and mild experience that didn’t stray too far in either an indica or sativa direction for me. I tried it on a Friday after work before heading out to see a show. It was a good fit for that moment. My radicular pain often makes theatre seats a challenge, and as the show continued, I found myself shifting more and more in the hard seats. However, to its credit, this flower kept me comfortable enough in my theatre seat to enjoy and make it through the show without needing a "back" break.

In the future, I would probably reach for this strain when I.m staying a bit closer to home and not dealing with radicular pain. This flower is something I'll go for when I want a balanced hybrid that lets me enjoy a nice evening without asking too much of me.

Lab Notes:

The COA for Middle Ground shows a cannabinoid profile built around THCA. Total THC is listed at 18.509 percent, with THCA at 20.23 percent and delta‑9 THC at 0.77 percent. Total cannabinoids come in at 19.23 percent. Minor cannabinoids include CBD at 0.14 percent, CBGA at 0.35 percent, CBCA at 0.26 percent, and small amounts of CBC. Moisture is listed at 11.33 percent, which is a healthy range for flower intended for vaporization.

Compliance testing shows no pesticides detected, no microbial issues, and no foreign materials. Heavy metals are listed as Pass, with chromium at 88.60 ppb and all other metals not detected. These values are reported exactly as shown on the lab document.

This COA does not include terpene testing data. That’a a huge bummer. We hope to see terpene testing on future flower COAs like this one.

Peach Score: 🍑🍑🍑

Middle Ground is a (remarkably) balanced hybrid with a steady, inviting personality. The gas and diesel aroma is pleasant without being overwhelming. The vapor is thin but clean. The flavor mostly holds up across multiple Volcano bags, and the experience sits in a comfortable middle lane. If I had to pick a way this strain leans, I would describe it as slightly indica‑leaning without being heavy for me.

Alex at Fine Fettle Decatur recommended this flower to us, and we're very grateful that he did. This wasn't the first flower on the Fine Fettle menu that jumped out at us, but we'd happily buy it again having now tried it. If you're curious about about a dispensary's products, don't be afraid to ask. There are a lot of great people, like Alex and his team, working in the medical cannabis industry who are happy and eager to help you find the medicine you're looking for.
