Northern Lights is one of the classic indica strains, and this one-gram 510‑thread vape cart from Roll One delivers a steady, familiar experience. I tried it on a sleepy, quiet, warm Georgia evening while watching the porch lights flicker on up and down the street. It felt like the right moment for this vape cart.
The Cart:
Roll One uses the Active710 EZClick Glass Plus cartridge. It feels fine in hand, nothing fancy, and it works as expected. The oil inside has a deeper orange‑brown tint compared to the two Aura carts from Fine Fettle that we previously reviewed. The airflow is also tighter than Aura’s carts, which seems to give the vapor a slightly warmer feel on the pull to me. The “peach sauce” inside seems to vape quickly in the Roll One cart, but still on par with the Aura carts from Fine Fettle. Botanical Sciences’ Granddaddy Purp cart seemed to last much longer with the same amount of use, but we still prefer the hardware from Trulieve and Fine Fettle.
We used a standard 510‑thread battery for this review, but we would probably enjoy this cart more with a vaporizer that cools the vapor a bit, like a DaVinci or Zenco.
After a couple of days of use, the vape cart started getting lightly clogged. For me at least, that’s not that unusual for this kind of vape cart. Day two and three of using this cart does remind me of how much I prefer the Aura carts at the moment.
Smell:
Before use, the cart has a very light pine aroma. Once heated, the vapor carries pine and a bit of citrus.
Vapor:
The vapor is medium thick and pulls smoothly. It is warm at the start, but not unexpectedly so. It never becomes harsh. The tighter airflow contributes to the warmth, which is why we plan to try this cart with a cooler vaporizer next time.
Taste:
The first flavor is a strong mix of pine, citrus, and peppery spice. The aftertaste is distinctly peppery and earthy with a faint floral note. The flavor is terpy, but it is not the most inviting profile compared to the Aura carts we have tried. It is still interesting and true to the strain.
Experience:
The strain performed for me as expected. It felt steady and familiar from start to finish. I would buy this again, even though I prefer Aura’s hardware.
Lab Notes:
A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is a lab report that shows the measurable compounds in a specific batch of cannabis. It is not a medical document and it does not predict effects. It simply lists what the lab found and whether each item passed the state’s testing requirements.
For this Northern Lights cart, total THC is listed at 84.958 percent, with total cannabinoids at 91.81 percent. CBG comes in at 4.12 percent, CBC at 0.42 percent, and CBN at 2.32 percent. The terpene panel shows terpinolene at 1.47 percent, beta‑caryophyllene at 0.57 percent, limonene at 0.52 percent, beta‑myrcene at 0.24 percent, beta‑pinene at 0.24 percent, and alpha‑pinene at 0.22 percent. Total terpenes land at 3.636 percent.
We asked if this cart had cannabis-derived terpenes (CDT) or botanical-derived terpenes (BDT). Trulieve employees at both the Marietta and Macon dispensaries told me this cart had CDT, but I can’t confirm that based on the terps listed on the COA. In addition, Trulieve’s own website for this vape cart says it’s BDT. The website states: “Roll One™ Vape Carts are filled with pure, potent cannabis oil made from carefully cured indoor-grown flower. Infused with botanically-derived terpenes, they deliver bold flavor and feel-good effects that capture the essence of strains you know and love.”
CDT vs BDT aside, the COA numbers do help explain why the cart tasted the way it did. This cart’s terpene balance lines up with our sensory notes. The pine and citrus come from pinene and limonene. The peppery spice and earthy finish match caryophyllene and myrcene.

This Northern Lights is a steady, familiar indica cart with a pine‑forward flavor, medium‑thick vapor, and a hardware design that works just fine. The strain performed as expected, and we would buy it again, especially if pairing it with a vaporizer that allows for the vapor to cool a bit before inhaling.
